Dear Tom:
The best testimony we can all be to the world was put so adeptly by my pastor this Sunday when he said miracles in our lives should be the natural rather than the supernatural.
I can feel the anointing upon the posters on this thread. It is very strong.
There were only several times in the NT when Christ said if you believe upon me, not in me. Read Like 4:18 then read Isaiah 61:1.
Luke 4:18 "The spirit of the Lord is upon me" What is upon Christ. The same spirit that is on us. When you get the indwelling Holy Spirit out of you and onto you; devils see Him, spirits recognize Him, He becomes a light of a million candle power to your pathway; no man nor demon can ignore Him, and devils tremble and flee in fear.
You can pray, plead, jerk, shout, tingle, pass out, pay tithes till the cows come home, sing, talk in tongues, do church solo's, run the aisles, tip toe the back of the church pews, swing from the light fixturers or walk the overhang on the balcony but without the anointed leadership and power and guidance of the Holy Spirit; nothing will change except for the worse.
But when the Holy Spirit is upon you; yokes are smashed and smeared, burdens are obliterated and wiped out and erased.
And I tell you what; I would be the last person to tell a sick person not to go to a doctor when you get sick but have you ever considered that the Caduceus is the symbol of the medical profession. I don't want to offend any doctors especially since my father is one.
Christ was lifted up on a cross and whomever looks upon him is healed.
Moses lifted up a serpent , an asp, a deadly snake, in the wilderness. And whomever looked upon the serpent was healed and did not die.
But what is the Caduceus? The symbol of a staff.; intertwined with two Aesculapian snakes, not one as was lifted up by Moses. The Aesculapian snake is also as harmless as a garden snake. According to Greek legend the Greek god of Apollo gave the staff to Hermes, a messenger of the Gods.
But in addition to being a messenger what else did Hermes do ? He was the transporter of souls to the underworld. He posessed power over sleep and dreams. He was a god of commerce and wealth. Responsible for good and bad luck. He was also a dangerous foe, a trickster ,a thief.
And this is the symbol of the medical profession. What am I saying. In some ways I really don't know but in others I do. Place trust in God and the power of God to heal you in addition to the medical profession. And last, look at Christ, lifted up on the cross, who became that deadly serpent that God put to death as your healer. For when we all see Christ lifted up as Moses lifted up the asp in the wilderness we too shall be healed.
