The purchase of Internet Movie Database was a very smart acquisition for Amazon.com. Check out imdb.com. I've often used it to check out stats on movies. Used alone, this might help AMZN with the ad revenue generation and they can then couple this to movie selling over the internet. Hopefully they'll acquire Image Entertainment (NASDAQ:DISK) at a good price to act as their distribution center/supplier within a month or two :)

At this point, AMZN should be trying to convert their mindshare and rich stock price into as many strategic acquisitions as possible. HYPE -> BIG STOCK PRICE -> ACQUISITIONS OF COMPANIES -> CONVERSION OF HYPE TO ASSETS -> BIG STOCK PRICE.

It's like a vicious circle where stock price is self-fulfilling :)
I'm neither long nor short. I have no idea where this stock is going but I'd be likely to sell short if it gets well over 100.
