Why no bid/ask?

This may be a rookie question, but why is there no bid/ask quoted? I know that it gets tweaked prior to market open, but I'm used to seeing what I assume is the last best bid/ask at the end of the day being carried until around 9:00am ET. Is there any significance to this?
