vpelt---- the name was spelled correct,,, if not that would be ok too. The generators I would pick today are made by Honda. One for on the boat as 50 mile long extension cords are hard to find. Some on this thread may create a market for those cords though <ggg>. I too have plans for that date,,, have some cash and gasoline on hand. Some food and firewood. I also plan to be on vacation from work that week <ggg> which will be my biggest preparation for the worst. I feel most of us are smart enough to survive a few days of misery IF needed. Only those with physical restraints may have a problem (meet your neighbor in case they need help and stop running scared) I will have the generator in storage on the boat as it will not be required. Those that worry that much should look into the requirements of a storage tank for fuel <ggg>, especially underground <ggggggggggg>. I cannot believe people are so reliant on everything being supplied that there is fear of the sky falling. Stop being lead and think of what you cannot handle for a day or two--- probably nothing! More probably there will be negligible effect on our lives even for a short time. If every computer in the country stopped how long before emergency measures would be take? Computers fixed or bypassed? Is everyone afraid of the dark? If the market closes for a week? a month? what the hell difference does it make. Worried about banks and cash,,, Why if you cannot pay with a check will the creditors know who has paid and who not? Will they give a damn for a month or two?
Maybe my little stint in SE Asia inthe 60s as a spec forces sgt makes me think a little different,,, maybe many of know we will survive especially after all the deaths due to heart attack as the ATM does not work frees up more supplies---
Sorry--- evidently some people have too much time on their hands and think of things to worry about and expand on them...
