What NewKidCo must strategize around?:"Families say WebTV is a big winner.."*

During NewKidCo's first news conference last week Forrester Research asked the new management team about their 'Interactive TV' strategy...NewKidCo suggested they will consider it (or any) viable market but they are initially launching on the game console systems....a good answer** but not what Forrester wanted to hear, in our opinion...nor apparently what the burgeoning WebTV base is demanding or thinking....NewKidCo should do two things in a timely manner....1) announce an alliiance with WebTV and 1a) or 2) issue a contemporaneous (with #1) news release (and for now on) indicating it is NewKidCo's strategic objective to not only be the dominant player in the youth edutainment market but to align with all burgeoning 'pipes/platforms' e.g. WebTV as well as game consoles/PCs...NewKidCo simply must do this now if it is to be credible with the street esp. as a 'youth edutainment' positioned company...WebTV arguably will represent the most important and profitable? young adult edutainment platform in history... WebTV simply and intuitively makes superior sense over any other platform [for NewKidCo's targeted customer base], in our opinion...and WebTV is inexorably ramping up its strategies on a daily basis...(and is owned by Microsoft)...Microsoft is going for the throat and betting the farm on this platform...

**game consoles will represent ~30M units in the United States by the end of 1998 ref/ previous NewKidCo News Conference post....obviously a bigger market (now) than WebTV.
