You seem to be the guru on PC's. Hope you can help me.

My windows stopped working. So I went into MSDOS and backed up 1 gig worth of data onto my zip drive. I reformatted the 1.6GB HD with the 'format' command (could'nt get the fdisk to work) without the /s. Then I installed windows95 successfully.

On Restart my computer just hangs up and finally comes with the message "Unable to write to disk in Drive C: (thats my HD). Data or files may be lost.

On trying Restart again, I got the message "FATAL EXCEPTION 0E has occurred at 0137.BFF9A3C0 Current application will be terminated.

Now when I boot up with my start-up disk it wont recognize my HD although it recognizes my CDROM in drive D:.

I tried SETUP and went for default values. No luck.

Any ideas as to what the problem may be. And any suggestion son what I should try next. Do you think getting a new drive would help??

Thanks

ratan
