Can't figure out why the stock price has been retreating while
ISLI seems to be hitting on ALL cylinders and then some.

This is from Cramer's Thestreet.com this evening:

Intersolv (ISLI:Nasdaq) is one of the few established players in the Year 2000 game not to blow up this year. The stock has risen over the last six quarters from 8 to better than 14. This rise directly coincides with Gary Greenfield's October 1996 appointment as president and CEO.

In a bullish presentation this morning, Greenfield cited a recent report by Triaxis Research that showed that the largest 250 publicly traded companies have total projected expenditures of at least $33 billion -- but only 20% of the total has been spent to date.

"Perhaps 80% of the work out there is 'last-minute' work," says Greenfield. "So we expect to triple or quadruple our work in this space in the next year." He also said his firm has already booked business to go beyond the Year 2000, doing telephone field expansion and Eurodollar conversion.

As proof, Greenfield announced a new deal with MCI (MCIC:Nasdaq). He did mention that his company was in a quiet period and about to announce earnings, but reminded the crowded room that earnings estimates on the Street were $1.90 for the current fiscal year -- not the words of a CEO who's about to miss his number.
