Is this the 'Reltech' mentioned in the conference call regarding FTTC? 300,000 subscriber lines installed since 1995, but looks to be the one...."RELTEC takes a different approach to a deep fiber network positioning, providing an architecture which, when deployed, approaches cost parity with today's copper- and DLC-based PMO -- and enables the deployment of fiber closer to the end-user (within TR-909's 500 feet). Fiber deployed this close to the home enables a virtually unlimited bandwidth solution without requiring any passband techniques for the delivery of services. The approach addresses the three fundamental limitations of other fiber-to-the-node architectures and bests them to deliver: 1) lower cost; 2) simplicity, and 3) enormous amounts of symmetrical bandwidth." And again, "The enabling technologies are integrated wave division multiplexing (WDM), cost-effective and high-powered Erbium doped fiber amplifiers (EDFAs), integrated 1550 nm and 1310 nm optics, with a trunking network designed to transport an analog or digital video signal over 110 miles."
