Ouch - Lehman now expecting 13% YOY decline in worldwide semi-equip spending. I think this means roughly 24 billion for semi-equip spending 1998 (based on 1997 spending of I think around 28.5 billion or so). ---- lehman.com (need acrobat reader) ---- Expecting 1% drop in US, rate of growth of Taiwan spending to slow to 15% this year, Japan 27% drop in YOY for FY(Apr.). But expects pick up at end 1998 (it better pick up! 13% drop is pretty severe) ---- Shane.
