Hi Michael,
Who operated that well which you referred to?? Apache?? Did they run casing on it?? Or, did they simply DST some water?? What formation did they produce the water from?? At what rate? What was the salinity? Was it overcast the day that they tested the water? What difference does it make and What the H--- does that well (some 75 miles removed, and drilled into a different geological setting) have to do with this well, anyway?? BTW, I bet that if we checked real close we might even find that Esso and Shell have drilled at least 1 dry hole apiece!! How about Crestar, how many D&A's do you have in your history??
Apache will necessarily have approved the content of the now old press release with respect to the uphole shallow zones in this well. Are you saying that we must disregard the fact that positive log responses on 4 - 5 zones have already been announced?
If the 10% exploration success stat is to hold, maybe, just maybe, DAL has the one success here at Strachan and now is due for a string of shitty luck!! Or, perhaps they will drill 50 straight exploration successes before falling on a lengthy period of "bad times"!! Or, perhaps they will never drill another dry hole, ever... the rest of the industry can make up for them!! BE CAREFUL HOW YOU USE YOUR STATISTICS.
