Rule #1: If it looks like a sure thing, it isn't.

Rule #2: Be informed. Seek reliable sources other than the company. Question everything and don't trust anyone other than yourself.

Rule #3: Trust your instincts.

Rule #4: Don't get too giddy on the good days nor too down on the bad days.

Motto: Luck results when preparation meets opportunity.

Tim McCarver once said that Bob Gibson was the luckiest pitcher he ever saw because he always pitched on the days the other team didn't score any runs. Bob Gibson was also one of the hardest workers and fiercest competitors to ever pitch a baseball. That is preparation meeting opportunity.
