Greetings! Dexx,
I agree! When I'm away and life is good, it becomes very easy to get lulled in this make believe trap , and an appreciation for even the simplest of our gifts gets lost in the day to day "FOG!"
I was recently at a Senior Girls High School Volleyball Tournament!
My daughter was one of the participants! The parents and fans were really into the game! We were doing a human wave, cheering, stomping our feet!
The girls on all the teams looked great in their colorful uniforms, playing hard, walking tall, struttung around like they had the world by the horns!
I thought to myself my oh my, all these parents of these kids are having so much fun! Then I jumped off the stands to quickly go to the restroom! As I ran around the corner of the entrance of the gym I basically tripped over this wheel chair! Initially I was annoyed as to why someone would leave a wheel chair right in the middle of an entrance to a major crowded sporting event!
I'm usually a little slow to catch on , so I looked at the wheel chair and there was this girl sitting in the wheel chair, with no visable use of any of her limbs! Then I looked behind her and there were her parents just beaming from ear to ear!---it felt like somebody had hit me over the head with a ton of bricks!------I thought what could they possibly be smiling about???
When I got my senses about me, I smiled back at them, but obviously with a stunned and shocked look!
They uttered the words what a great fun time their daughter was having at the volleyball tournament, with all the excitement and positive energy!------I asked if I could do anything to get the wheel chair closer to the gym floor , so that she she could actually see the games being played!---Oh! No! That's OKAY! They said!--Then they told me their daughter was also blind!
WOW! Everytime I think I am starting to understand what is going on in this life, another load of bricks smacks me in the head!
