Doug, I don't think that AMAT will disappear. I like the co. And there will always be a need for chip equipment and they are the leader, right now. My argument has been with the stock price, not the co. Especially in this environment. You are right that smaller suppliers, etc., are much more vulnerable.

Unfortunately, most of these cos. already have pe ratios, if they have Es, that reflect their precarious positions. I don't know of any that look overpriced and are likely to go belly up. These subs were never the darlings that other high tech firms were. Maybe others on the thread will have some ideas. I usually concentrate on those firms that have options, so I can buy puts, and most of the chip equipment subs do not. Dave Dhillon knows a lot of these firms if he is still out there somewhere. MB
