New longs buying and some shorts covering is not a squeeze. A short squeeze is an eruption of disorderly panic. It occurs when shorts are desperate to exit their position at any cost, and not nearly enough shares are available for them to do so. A squeeze is a helluva lot more than an upward bump in a stock. I'd guess that for every fifty short squeezes excitedly announced on stock message boards, perhaps one actually occurs. Ahh, the internet.
