Hi Paul, >> could Novell make Groupwise into a cross platform entry level product? <<
I believe it is, but I'm open to correction.
>> It may sound strange but this is a company that is devoted to selling to its existing customers. Preaching to the converted. <<
Heh! Strange! Strange you say, Paul! No, it's not strange at all. THAT'S WHAT THE FREAKIN' problem is. Upgrades are NOT GOOD ENOUGH. THEY NEED TO GENERATE NEW BUSINESS, ADDITIONAL INCOME, REVENUE, MONEY, MOOLA, $$$$$$. Excuse me Paul, I'm a little hyper tonight <g>.
>> Any ideas what they can do to come up with something to attract new customers? <<
<ahem> Uh... Yes.
1. Sell Groupwise 2. Sell Managewise 3. Sell Intrnetware 4. License and sell NDS 5. Become dominant 6. Repeat steps 1-4 many, many, many, many, times. I'm not so sure about step 5. any longer.
>> IntraNetware is not priced in this category. <<
Then they should lower the price. Oh, what, you say no can do? Well, then I say "flatten your managment, and rightsize". <smile>.
That will certainly make the shareholders happy. But, hey, that's capitalism, right?
Joe <Seriously, I think groupwise is crossplatform, and you are 100% on the money about "preaching to the choir" Paul> |
