Eagle USA says buys to add $33 mln to revs

HOUSTON, April 28 (Reuters) - Eagle USA Airfreight Inc. said Tuesday its April acquisitions of S. Boardman and Eagle
Cos will add $33 million in international revenues over the next year.

''Our international freight forwarding expansion plans have been strongly enhanced by the two recently-completed acquisitions
related to our international forwarding business in Latin America and the United Kingdom,'' Eagle USA Chairman and Chief
Executive James Crane said in a news release.

Eagle USA, a provider of air freight forwarding and other transportation and logistics, said it expects to open between ten and
twelve additional North American terminals over the next two quarters.

Strong ''same terminal'' revenue growth during the second quarter drove overall revenue growth within the company's core
domestic freight forwarding business, the company said.

The air freight transportation company posted second quarter net income of nearly $4.0 million or $0.21 per diluted share,
compared with $2.95 million or $0.16 per diluted share a year earlier. Revenues for the quarter were $90.5 million compared
with $61.5 million in the same period of fiscal 1997.

International sales accounted for 8 percent of total revenues for the quarter.

Eagle posted 33 percent same terminal revenue growth, fueled primarily by strong marketing efforts at the terminal level.

The company said it gained its first overseas facilities through the April acquisition of S. Boardman Air Services Ltd, an
international freight forwarder with facilities in London, Manchester and Birmingham, England.
