TraderGreg,

What is the source of your information??

And for shorting: A broker may be the only one for whom it makes sense to short. They can loan out YOUR shares and drive the price down.

If you have research, state where your information is from. I have spoken to Yvonne Huber at Nasdaq.

To me the important part of the information is:

1. BB's can be shorted.
2. Specific shares don't have to be identified.
3. With a 100% collateral requirement, the only person or organization that it makes sense for is a broker that is holding YOUR shares in a margin account.

Finally, I wish now I knew more about the "Affirmative Determination" rule she spoke about. I assume now there is a way of adding up all the shares of a stock that are held in marginable accounts. The shorts can only work with that number of shares and NO MORE.

TG, do you know anything about that??

later, leroyt
