TG,

Thanks for the info. I was just stating what's given.

I have not asked any brokerage to short a BB and I probably won't.

My issue is this: If I leave my shares of stock in a margin account with a broker, am I helping MM's or other brokers to drive the price down by shorting the stock.

Should I only have cash accounts for BB stocks?
Should I hold the certificates myself?

Have an opinion?

thanks and later, leroyt

P.S. the original intent of my statement was based on a comment from someone on another thread who claimed BB stocks could not be shorted because they are not marginable. Answer: BB stocks can not be margined. BUT, BB stock can be shorted.

Brokerage houses may make the rules (since there's 100% collateral required it may be useless) but shorting BB's can be done.
