Hi Gary,
My previous posts address Export from v4 to v3 format. It's certainly NOT instantaneous but seems to vary greatly with processor speed (anywhere from 2 hours to 30 minutes or less). Once you get the data into version 3 format, any software that is capable of reading the older version will be able to read this exported data directly.

All that's required for GET to read the Exported data is to give it a correct path. Mine is simply TC2000\EXPORT (TC Pro's path was TC2000\DATA). What's really neat is that GET will read the exported real-time (delayed) data. Kind of a poor man's real-time GET. No longer need the "What If" feature we used to have in the DOS version.

Don't recommend Exporting ALL symbols for these reasons. The length of time required to Export all symbols is a consideration but, more importantly, you will be required to UPDATE all exported symbols each time you export during the day.

I'm considering maintaining ALL symbols in one directory to have them available to GET and other programs. However I will NOT update this directory during the day. I will only update stocks of particular interest that will be stored in a separate export directory. It's then simply a matter of pointing GET to desired database.

Hope this is helpful,
Bill S
