I have been using the 1,2,3,4 setups exclusively. Having a stock gap open to hit a buy stop and sell off is typical of Cooper picks in a sideways market. Not exactly a momentum traders environment.

How to avoid getting stung? Waiting on the sidelines until the two hour rule is met. Buy the stock only if the high during the first two hours is taken out solidly, during the day's trading.

1,2,3,4 setups is actually Gann Style trading, ie. buy rising peaks and sell falling valleys. This can be done on 5 minute bars or weekly.

Be careful and don't let those trades turn into long term investments!
