MicroProse Is Cleared for Takeoff at The 1998 Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3)
ALAMEDA, Calif. -- MicroProse, Inc. (Nasdaq: MPRS) will take flight in Atlanta this May with its presence at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3). Marking its fourth year at this conference, MicroProse will exhibit what promises to be its most powerful lineup of branded games to date. Leading the pack are Falcon(R) 4.0, STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION(R) Klingon Honor Guard(TM), MechCommander(TM) and MechWarrior(R) 3.

FALCON(R) 4.0
As the new benchmark in combat flight simulation technology, Falcon 4.0 raises the bar in graphics, realism, multiplayer gaming and campaign gameplay. Set in the Korean peninsula with a real-time, full-scale war in progress, Falcon 4.0 provides authentic flight modeling, including highly detailed models of F-16C avionics and weapon systems, threat environments and artificial intelligence. For an ultra-realistic combat experience, the PC game features thousands of tanks, aircraft, ships and military personnel all simulated in the industry's first completely real-time, dynamic campaign. Falcon 4.0 continues the legacy of the MicroProse Falcon series, which to date has sold more than one million units, earning its stripes as the all-time best-selling air combat flight simulator game for computers.
STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION(R) Klingon Honor Guard(TM)
Klingon Honor Guard is a fast-paced, high-action, 3-D shooter game that plunges the player into the STAR TREK(TM) universe on a mission to uncover a plot to assassinate the Klingon High Council and its leader, Gowron. Utilizing the Unreal(TM) 3-D engine, this first-person shooter re-creates the look and feel of the Klingon Empire from the Paramount Television series STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION(R). Explosive battles take place in seven unique 3-D worlds on more than 20 fully interactive levels and players can choose from 10 familiar weapons to six newly created powerful weapons. STAR TREK fans will note that the game features the voices of veteran Klingon actors from the series and over 20 highly detailed creatures and enemies. A highly sophisticated AI allows enemies to adjust to an attack by ducking for cover, sounding alarms and running for reinforcements. Klingon Honor Guard is a multiplayer game that supports Death matches as well as cooperative play via modem, LAN and Internet.
MECHCOMMANDER(TM)
MechCommander, the first MechWarrior(R) game of tactical command for the PC, delivers the true experience of command. This new real-time strategy game of tactical combat and resource management set in the stunningly detailed BattleTech(R) universe features a rich and unparalleled depth of story and integrity. Players choose their own combat forces, as they determine which pilots, weapons, sensors and 'Mechs(R) they send out to the battlefield. Each pilot and 'Mech possesses its own unique capabilities and combat characteristics providing players an almost limitless number of strategic and tactical possibilities. The game offers outstanding production values with intense action that explodes off the screen.

MECHWARRIOR(R) 3
Gamers control giant walking tanks, called BattleMechs(R), in this fast and furious science fiction combat action game. Through a story taken directly from the BattleTech universe, gamers command an elite 'Mech scavenging a war-torn enemy world while taking direct control over mission planning, determining what targets to hit and when. Newfound equipment and parts allow players to customize and repair damaged 'Mechs. With several million copies sold worldwide, the MechWarrior series is one of the best-selling software franchises in history and is synonymous with groundbreaking technological performance and gameplay. MechWarrior 3 is being developed for MicroProse by Zipper Interactive.
