Hi Christine, I didn't see your flea post until I made mine. Take my word for it just once. Advantage works. I've used it safely for about a year and a half now, and fleas are rare. Any new ones were probably carried in from outside.

I am absolutely wrong about what? Of course exploding nuclear plants are deadly. They can be designed to be safe, with automatic shutdown that can't be overridden. We lose about 50,00 people every year in the US to car accidents. Why don't we stop driving? Why do people insist that only nuclear power must be absolutely safe?

If we didn't discover nuclear power then we would have added millions of tons of pollution from coal plants.

Yes, you did misunderstand me. I did not say that the damage was overestimated. I agree with the death rate. What I did say was that the wildlife that has returned to the area is doing better than expected, even with the higher levels of radiation, mainly because the absence of man was more beneficial than the radiation was harmful. Those animals refuse to obey the "keep out" signs, and are doing well. We have a laboratory now to study the effects of radiation.

David, did you study Chernobyl?
