NEW YORK, April 29 (Reuters) - Issues to watch this morning:

-- Compaq Computer Corp.'s CPQ efforts to trim inventory by slashing prices are having the desired effect, Compaq Chief Executive Eckhard Pfeiffer said on Tuesday. He said product was "flowing out fast." Compaq shares closed Tuesday in New York at 27-11/16.
