Gates Unveils Windows NT Interface nytimes.com

Another one strictly for entertainment value

In 10 years, every personal computer will be capable of seeing, listening and learning, Microsoft chairman Bill Gates said Monday.

See me, feel me, touch me, heal me, said my computer as I logged on. Shut up, I replied. Then, it crashed.

Microsoft is investing to build a ''great digital nervous system'' empowering businesses to be more competitive, and making jobs more interesting for people, he said.

My, we've moved on from DNS to GDNS. I find it all very interesting already, of course.

Gates address came on the heels of an announcement the new Windows NT 5.0 operating system would include a ''Real World Interface,'' a more graphics oriented approach designed to simplify manageability of the NT update.

Think MTV can sue? It all seems quite unreal to me.

Cheers, Dan, somewhat waggish this morning.
