Kai;
I have tried to use your BBB QP program. Look at reply #2 from O'Donnel to Richard dated Oct 12,1996 undewr TA-SCANS AND SYSTEM TESTS for a another one. Also underTA-QUOTES PLUS REPLY #2 nOV 3,1996 FROM dEREK bARKALOW TO DOUGLAS SCHNEIDER.

PS: I have been trying to setup another QP scan without limited success, based on Stan' s Weistein triple point long tern traders as follows: Close(0)>movavg(0,-50,cl)// close is greater than 50dma Close(0)>movavg(0,-150,cl)// close is greaten than 150dma vol(0)> avgvol(0,-150)*2 //vol isc greater than 2 times 50 dma
What Stan tries to find is not the above but when the following ALL occurs together 50dma<=150dma and the closing price is just above 50dma breaking out of a base with a 40 to 50% move before breaking out.(WIDE BASE Range NEEDED) EXAMPLE: 50dma <=150dma Baseing Range is from 15 to 17 So a 40% move would be .40X15= 2.4 +15=17.4 This is a buy @ this point.
If I could make my program work for the long term then you could aor could not have to modify it for the short term.
What I have been trying to do is to bracket the point as follows: Close(0)<=movavg(0,-50,cl)*1.2//closing price is less than the 50 dma for the closing price times 1.2 or 120% This should place me from 20% above, to anywhere below.
To cutoff the close(0) from being below 50dma:I use following paired statement: close(0)>= movavg(0,-50,cl)// closing price is above or = to the 50dma
I use a similar statement for both the 50 & the 150dma while setting a vol statement of vol(0)>2*50dma for volume.
:O))
Anyone who can help please add this this thread. |
