ATLANTA, April 29 /PRNewswire/ -- The Network Connection, Inc. (TNCi) (Nasdaq: TNCX - news), an industry leading developer and manufacturer of video and multimedia file-server technologies for the airline, cruise line, train, hotel, education, Internet and corporate Intranet environments, announced today that it has received its first order from Objective Communications Inc. (Nasdaq: OCOM - news) to supply its Cheetah(R) Video On Demand (VOD) server and Set Top Personal Computer (STPC) for integration into the Company's VidPhone(R) video-network-solution product line.
VidPhone uses existing telephone lines to distribute high-resolution video communications, such as video conferencing and live television broadcasts, to any desktop throughout an organization, uncompressed, at 30 frames per second. Within this application, the Cheetah video server provides over 700 hours of full-motion video, such as training and education courseware, to as many as 300 desktops simultaneously. ''We look forward to a mutually beneficial, long-term relationship with Objective,'' stated Wil Riner, chief executive officer of The Network Connection, Inc. ''Our proven video solution is a well-suited adjunct to their superior product line.''
''TNCi's products are state-of-the-art and a perfect compliment to VidPhone,'' stated Steven Rogers, president and chief executive officer of Objective Communications, Inc. ''We are very pleased with our growing association.''
Objective Communications, Inc. developed the patented VidPhone system to provide high-quality, cost-effective video broadcasting, retrieval and conferences to desktops or conference rooms over the same wire used for existing telephone systems. The Company is selling VidPhone systems through channel partners, which include telephone companies, PBX manufacturers, network integrators and other value-added resellers.
TNCi designs, manufactures and distributes the Cheetah family of video server platforms that enable the storage and delivery of up to 700 hours of digital video/audio data to up to 300 simultaneous video/audio users over local area networks. Cheetah servers are used to bring interactive, on-demand, full-motion video training, education and entertainment to the networked client computers in the corporate, home, educational and aircraft (AirView(R)), cruise ship (CruiseView(R)), train (TrainView(R)), and hotel (InnView(TM)), travel-related entertainment and transport environments.
