Satyr,
Good news and bad news. The cost varies depending on which company provides your frame serivce and how far you are located from their point of presence, connection point.
I am located 29 miles away from their connection point in New Orleans (WorldCom) and it will cost me $515 per month total ($281 for the phone company, and $234 for WorldCom - all billed monthly by WorldCom). The intallation charges of approx $860 are waived if you take a one year contract instead of ordering month-to-month. If you live in or near a major city, your cost could be substantially less than mine.
I think it's a lot, more than I expected. But I make a whole lot more trading, and I refuse to trade any other way. This is the best I can find, and I want nothing less. I understand that, with the dedicated frame connection vs dial-up, it will seem like I am sitting right in Cyber's office trading. I like that.
Incidentally, I already spend about $70 per month for the ISDN line, but I won't need it anymore. I'll keep it, however, for backup. Can't have enough backup, in my opinion.
I don't think there is any maintenance involved, however, so I haven't heard of any costs in that regards. Oh, you need to have a network interface card in the pc to connect to the frame. It doesn't use a modem.
Anyone interested in frame relay info, rather than ask me, you might prefer to contact Cyber Corp techs directly, or, better yet, contact World Com (or any other company) directly. World Com's sales rep is Joseph Gangi, at 1-888-500-2060, fax 1-888-550-1063. Anyone who knows of a better or cheaper frame provider than World Com, please let me know. Thanks!
Well, that's all I know so far. I hope this info helps. Good luck.
