It sounds like you are not just fooling around with the software but possibly getting your fingers inside the case.<g> If so then there are many more possibilities to where your problem exists.<vbg>

Check the polarity of cables. on hard drive and motherboard. Red stripe points to power connector and is #1 pin. Then check Floppy cable. Also use defaults in bios. Can't think of other typical mistakes but just try and back track your changes.

Still find it difficult to believe it is a hardware problem based on what you told me.:-)
