Jeffrey...

>>The process is obviously much more detailed than getting upgrades to canned software.<<

Totally agree and did not mean to imply that it was simple. IMO, companies like Intel will spend a lot on testing the inter-dependencies of various SW from multiple application providers and their own applications.

The following statement taken from the link you sent me provides support for my contention as to who will be doing a lot of the remediation.

>>Intel is also contacting critical suppliers of products and services to determine that the suppliers' operations and the products and services they provide are year 2000 capable or to monitor their progress toward year 2000 capability. <<

Remediation however is not the whole problem as we are both know.

I also agree that 20% of Intel's IT budget will be more than both of us "investors" will make or lose on ACLY by a LONG short!!!

In any event, thanks for the input, not yet enough to change my opinion and I doubt that I have changed yours. So...Let the games continue until one of us is a winner. So far I am ahead as I shorted at 22.5 including round trip commissions. You won today's game however ..ACLY up 1/8. Not much but up nonetheless.

Thanks again and we will both keep watching.
