<<TO ALL>>
Lucretius:
This morning you commented: <<when you slash prices to move inventory as CPQ is doing, it is not hard to move product. Note the stock is not up in pre-open trading. This info, is bearish for DELL IMO, cause the sales CPQ is mkaing are being taken from someone else, IBM, DELL, or GTW. >>
The market disagrees with you (today)......Care to rethink any of your other comments?
<< not in the market at present, my (only) investments are in gold mining-stocks and Japan >>
No need for further comment. I will be praying for you. You will need the help. (Would love to hear your rational for those investments, can't think of many/any compared to other alternatives...)

Anyone read the IBM cover article in the WSJ today? I loved Gerstner's comments: "Industry rivals are seeking to become more monolithic (!) like IBM.....He cited efforts by Compaq Computer Corp. to buy DEC, and Computer Associates to buy CSC........I like our chances in this kind of race.........I like our odds against any IBM wannabes".
Gotta love it.
Finally, it looks like I may be making the trip to Austin in July. Would love to hear from any of you who are going/meet you, help organize any meetings amongst us (anyone planning such?) etc. Would appreciate any messages regarding.........
Lucretius, in all seriousness, I hope we are all winners with our investments. Good luck! (except when you bet against a long Dell position). However,I always appreciate fact-based, well-thought out arguments/discussion... |
