News Release: New director; Lac Elmer progress; Clearwater to begin drilling in August Eastmain Resources Inc ER Shares issued 16,200,000 Apr 28 close $0.32 Wed 29 Apr 98 News Release Mr. Donald Robinson reports Eastmain has appointed Bruce A. Bouley to its board of directors. Dr. Bouley has 25 years experience as a manager and exploration geologist in the mining industry. He has worked primarily in Canada, the U.S. and Mexico. Most recently with BHP Minerals International Exploration, Dr. Bouley managed a multi-disciplinary exploration program in North and Central America with more than 60 permanent geoscientists in as many as 10 offices, with budgets of $20-million to $30-million. He has worked with advanced stage exploration projects and co-ordinated activities leading to the prefeasibility of mineral properties. Dr. Bouley also managed the exploration activities for Cominco Alaska from 1990 to 1995 and for Callahan Mining Corp. from 1980 to 1990. Diamond drilling has recently been completed at Eastmain's joint venture with Barrick Gold at Lac Elmer, Quebec. No assay data has been received by the company to date. The joint venture partners have traced a 7 kilometre long gold-silver rich, pyritic tuff horizon on the property, which is geologically comparable to rocks that host the mines within the Bousquet Camp. Surface exploration and diamond drilling is also scheduled at Eastmain's newly acquired Railroad project in Bathurst, New Brunswick. Previous work by BHP Minerals intersected ore grade base metals over mineable widths within an extension of the prolific Brunswick mine horizon. Eight base metal sulphide prospects have been identified on this 4,896 hectare property. Drilling to date indicates the potential for a world class base metal deposit on this highly prospective property, within 5 miles of Noranda's Heath Steele base metal mine and mill. Diamond drilling will also commence in August on Eastmain's 50 per cent owned Clearwater project, in joint venture with SOQUEM. A drill indicated resource of 800,000 tonnes grading 11.7 g/t gold has been outlined. (c) Copyright 1998 Canjex Publishing Ltd. canada-stockwatch.com |
