From Greenland with love ... Just got this response to an e-mail question. Figured it would take longer. There is considerable misunderstanding about FCC "approvals". Our AirLink system, like all radio devices, must obtain certain approvals from the FCC before they can be deployed/sold. Greenland has obtained a license that allows us to deploy our prototype units. A second round of approvals will be required from a local lab (licensed by the FCC) to provide final "type acceptance" for AirLink units. We will take the necessary steps for this approval when we are satisfied that our current design is final and ready for larger-scale manufacturing and deployment. As long as we continue to make small changes in our circuitry to provide additional functionality to the product, we have hesitated to go further with the type acceptance procedure. That being said, type acceptance is not a major hurdle and is a routine procedure to make sure that our radio signals do not interfere with others and that we comply with the frequency characteristics under licenses given to our customers to install our networks. We believe that we are in the final phase of preparation before releasing our latest version of AirLink, which we believe will provide unprecedented performance for devices of its type at prices that should be considerably lower than competitive systems.
