Nice to see Com Dev, a small Canadian company, is continuing to produce innovative products for the communications sector. I feel very positive about this company long term, as they have positioned themselves to benefit from the convergence of wireless land based and celestial communications. Both of these markets are measured in the billions and are growing at a double-digit rate, creating future interesting prospects for this company. It is also reassuring to see Com Dev has sold to almost all of the big players in both of these market (Lucent, Hughs Electronics, Noika, Northern Telecom, Motorola, etc.). Though the stock is not cheap, I have been over the past few weeks trying to accumulate the stock at below $25 dollars and have a one-year target of $30.00. I am a little uneasy about purchasing more shares, as I was a little disappointed with the first quarter results (eps 0.14) and would like to wait until the second quarter earnings are out and would then have a better idea on how much the Asian crisis is affecting Com Dev.
