Del, I think the people who are wary of nuclear power insist that it be safe because there are alternate ways of producing energy. On the other hand, while it would be nice if no one drove anymore, public transportation in this country is not usually convenient and direct enough to make it practical for most of us.

Did you know there are more suicides in America than homicides every year? We don't spend many of our resources trying to solve that problem, either. I was listening to NPR today, however, and it seems that a gene for suicide has been isolated. I will post something about it if I can find anything in print. I thought that was fascinating.
