John, I think it's important to have a basic understanding of what Turbopac is and how it operates.

Regular turbochargers operate off the engine exhaust. So they're not effective at low RPMs since the exhaust volume is low.

The end result is sluggish performance and a plume of smoke (unburned fuel) when a diesel powered vehicle makes the transition from idle to moving out. Since that's precisely what urban busses do constantly, it's a particular problem for diesel powered urban busses.

Turbopac uses an electric motor and some fancy electronic controls to to "instantly" ramp up the turbocharger when the controls sense the increased demand for power.

End result: No smoke, better acceleration at low speeds, reduced fuel consumption (remember, the smoke is unburned fuel).

Endorsement by Detroit Diesel and the Environmental Protection Agency after exhaustive tests and you're worried it's a scam????
