Accelar 1200 Routing Switching Backbone of NetWorld+Interop 98

(NYSE:BAY) reinforced its commitment to providing leading-edge technology and promoting interoperability and open standards with its announcement today of continued support for the network infrastructure at NetWorld+Interop 98 Las Vegas.
For the first time, the InteropNet network backbone will be deployed using Layer 3 switching and will be mostly based on Bay Networks' Accelar 1200 routing switches.
For the fourth consecutive year, Bay Networks is the only InteropNet Diamond-level contributor, providing over $5 million in equipment and network support to the InteropNet. The company has also donated the time of several senior-level engineers to the InteropNet Network Operations Center (NOC) team to assist in the design, architecture and deployment of the InteropNet.
