Hello Peter

I want to be a little cautious here Peter as I have heard some very positive things from a few people who theoretically might have first hand knowledge, but I don't want to be rumour mongering, especially on the net. I can't stand behind the reliability of these sources so I would prefer to not put my rep on the line until I get some confirmation from a source or two whom I trust to be factual.

I hope you understand.

We have had a strong mist here in YK but then we have had snow as well. Its still be low 0 at night and only the slews have melted. I drove by a few of our local deeper lakes and they haven't even begun to melt away from shore yet. Temperatures are changeable during the day (in YK)and can start off cold and warm up towards afternoon.

Because of reflectance, the sun usually isn't the catalyst for significant lake melting. Typically, it would be the May showers that would start to candle the ice, and so far we have not had them. Usually these start the second week of May but could occur at any time. Even once they do, Back Lake is hundreds of KM east and north of us and could have three even four more weeks of safe ice drilling life. Keep in mind that even the big lake is not open until mid-June or later. Winter hangs on up here.

I believe Aber and possibly Diamet drilled from a barge a few years ago but I have not heard whether SUF has made any plans in that regard.

Regards
