Peter,
Actually, they do have a competitive advantage. Hansens is an
established brand, very popular in the West Coast. Until recently,
they didn't have the East Coast distribution. They have added
over 10,000 distribution points over the past quarter and the number keeps on growing. I expect brand awareness to grow as the demand for
functional beverages grows. I've thought to myself, it would be cheaper for a Coca Cola or some other beverage company to buy them (even at a substantial premium) than to develop their own formulation and brand name. Remember, the marketcap is only $30M. R&D costs could run much more to start from scratch. FYI: Cruttenden Roth just put out a note upping the price target to $4.50 (a 45% increase from where the stock is now) and raising numbers (as we suspected they would). I
think that target is conservative....Terry
