Coherent Announces Next Generation Echo Control With EC-8000

At the heart of the EC-8000 is Coherent's High Density RISC Processor (HDRP) technology for superior voice quality, combined with improved reliability. The HDRP is the result of an intensive two year development program conducted by Coherent. The new, advanced EC-8000 ranks as the most extensive echo cancellation platform available for wireline and wireless telephony applications, complemented by complete acoustic and hybrid echo control in even the most difficult network environments.

The EC-8000 provides enhanced double-talk performance, with minimum clipping and residual echo, as a result of the adaptive algorithm and spectrally-weighted Dynamic Noise Injection. A unique processing approach to background noise ensures a more natural background sound during conversation. It is transparent for high level background noise and replaces low level background noise with spectrally-weighted and amplitude-matched comfort noise. The EC-8000 provides fast convergence with superior stability, ensuring excellent voice quality from the onset of the call.
