Comparing applicaitons is unfair as the end performance will depend on how the applicaiton is written. Microsoft, for instance, used a very poor architecture for office 4 on the mac and so it ran much slower on the mac. This was deliberate because it helped sell more windows boxes (And at that time, windows was just comming out and office was desinged to force people ot upgrade from dos)
