Intel intends for the new PII notebooks (Mobile Deschutes) to reach 300 Mhz 2nd half this year and 333 1st qtr 99. The Mobile Katmai, 2nd half 99 will be available with Geyersville power saving technology and Colfax integrated notebook board. Mobile Katmai with Geyersville is expected to run at 350 on battery and 450 on AC power with 100 Mhz bus. FYI desktop Katmai will start at 500 Mhz 1st half of 99 with possible 200 Mhz bus and integrated speech recognition. Desktop Merced with explicitly parallel instructions will come out in mid to later 99 at 600 Mhz or so and 2nd generation late 99 early 2000 will debut at 1000 Mhz. Know thine enemy. Rich
