You got it wrong...I don't forgive Compaq management for this current screw up; however, I realize that all people make mistakes...and that Pfeiffer has shown IN THE PAST he is more than capable of the current situation. Over the past seven years I have followed Compaq, he has shown consistently why he gets paid the big bucks.

Let's just get something straight: There is a big difference between past performance in a stock and that of management. Management can control the company, yet they do not directly effect the stock price. Investors, from who knows where, control the stock price...thus, it is hard to have confidence on the "whims" of investors. There are multiple reasons as to why a stock goes up; thus past performance can not ensure future performance. Management is different...more constant.

Don't get me wrong...Dell is an excellent company and I'm positive it will continue to be so. Yet, the question is its stock price. They are two different things. The problem with the Dell thread is that incorrect data and information concerning CPQ is spread like a wild fire (jim Kelly). I try to correct this misinformation, but Dellheads just continue to harrass without any concern with the truth. The difference on this thread is that investors here seem to want to hear the truth. If Compaq is weak in a certain area...investors here want to know about it. That's almost unspeakable on the Dell thread and accounts for why I have to scream over ther. Less cheerleaders here. I guess hard times weeds out...
