A blast from the past: Innovacom's claims/credibility ----------------------------------------------------- I was trying to find my old authoring system list (posted on this thread) and ran into some old postings that really show how much distortion MPEG officials have used. Yet, it seems shareholders haven't filled suit for the obvious lies. From a NYC Presentation in June 97: Message 1674948 Sierra Vista president brags how they Sierra Vista will do $40 million in revenues in 98 (they even issued a release on that). Now they have come out and said revenue will be insignificant. NASDAQ listing? They said Sept 97. It's May 98 folks. Competition? Cube & IBM. Sony will use theirs for internal use. OOPS! Guess Sony saw opportunity there since they will be selling theirs to others. Sales in 97? They said for all 3 divisions $8 million. What was that actual figure folks? Well at least they got 1% of their estimate ... close enough. Some of us actually doubt a little and don't have complete faith (https://www.siliconinvestor.com/readmsg.aspx?msgid=1678826). The whole Sierra Vista hype was truly incredible. Do you remember this old release that has since been expunged? Message 1612155 The response from the bulls was typical: Message 1612651 The response from the cynical was also typical: Message 1612758 Salespeople seem to get 6-digit incomes by lying through their teeth but they never seem to get nailed for it. Too bad engineers can't do the same.
