Yep "MACEVOLUTION" printed under the picture of AAPL's new PowerBook which hopefully will be a price and performance winner .
Coming 5/6/98 , after IBM's new slimline (4.9 lbs, 1.4 in wide) Thinkpad , gives AAPL a chance to prove to IBM its own PowerPC is better inside !
IBM's new top of the line 600 model is priced at $4,599 (266 mz P II , 32 mb SDRAM , 13.3 TFT , 4GB disk , 24X CD , and a 56Kbps modem ) .
Should give AAPL a price umbrella and IBM admits to 40% profit margins . IBM's ThinkPad advertising may develop the thin case market for AAPL who then has the 292 mz IBM PowerPC knockoff .
IMO , this is not the 5/11/98 WWDC announcement , which hopefully will be new software/services .
