Combined with what to me is an obvious over abundunce of power in todays $1500 machines, leads me to believe that we are very close to the end. I still see PCs in a very simmilar position.

Your comments kind of remind me of the head of the patent office during the late 19th century who thought the office should be closed because just about everything had been invented. This is a true story. Probably someone out there can supply the name, year and exact quote.
