I picked up some ADAM a few months ago. I've known the company for a number of years, but didn't realize until last November that they were public. They have very high quality product and lot of it, which would seem to create big barriers to entry for would-be competitors.

Anyone know of any other small companies that own high-quality, hard-to-duplicate digital content that could sell over the net? I'd love to find a few more. The only one that comes close is IVIP (IVI Publishing, soon to be HealthNet), but they don't own the content the way ADAM does. IVI was appealing mostly because it's in health care, which surely will become a big consumer draw on the net... with lots of competition.
