The Network Connection Announces Successful Completion of FAA Tests
For The AirView(R) Business Console

ATLANTA, April 30 /PRNewswire/ -- The Network Connection, Inc. (TNCi) (Nasdaq: TNCX - news), an industry leading developer and manufacturer of video and multimedia file-server technologies for the airline, cruise line, train, hotel, education, Internet and corporate Intranet environments, announced today that the Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) has tested and certified the Company's AirView(R) Center Business Console for application aboard French-carrier Fairlines MD-81 aircraft. All tests were conducted with the TNCi AirView 11.3-in. Media Viewer, the largest in the In-Flight Entertainment (IFE)
industry, in the consoles with the units deployed and stowed to simulate conditions aboard an aircraft.
Tests were conducted at an authorized FAA test facility and included a (16G) sled test, (HIC) head impact and (300 lb) abuse test load, all designed to verify critical passenger safety requirements. The (16G) test of the system is new and soon to be an FAA standard requirement for certification.
The Business console is the last remaining unit to be installed aboard the Fairlines planes and is the final aspect of a contract that calls for TNCi to fit 10 Fairlines' MD-81 aircraft with their AirView IFE server product. The contract is valued at $13 million.
At the time the last remaining unit is installed, the DGAC (French Civilian Aviation Authority), which is a counterpart to the FAA, will sign off on the FAA approval. No further tests by the DGAC are required once the FAA has approved and certified the consoles.
