Hi wrml:

May be I feel differently from others on this
thread, but I hope that WCII won't be taken over
any time soon. If you look at a long term horizon,
WCII could have phenomenal growth prospects as
the undisputed leader in broadband wireless.
As the huge cash flow stream will start kicking
around 2001--2002, I expect that the residential market
will take off. The LMDS license winners may flounder
around and go under before that time, in which case
WCII would be extremely well positioned. Note
also that massive ADSL deployment keeps getting
pushed further in the future, and it is unrealistic
to think that the cable infrastructure will be
ugraded to allow the wide availability of cable modem
services. This means that several years down the road
there may be a huge opportunity in broadband wireless
for the home. Only WCII would have the cash flow
to take advantage of this strategic opportunity.

The bottomline: WCII has probably even more
long term potential than MCI and Sprint had in
the 80s. I hope that it gets to seize this potential
as an independent identity, not as a division of
good old Ma Bell or BT.
