Hello Sydney,
I'll give you an example. I have net cap gains this year that I don't want to pay taxes on. I have 2 stocks that have losses substantial enough to neutralize most of those gains as to drop me a tax bracket. I also don't think that those 2 will rise significantly in price in the next 30 days so I sell them. If the prices stay down, I can repurchase after the 30 days are up and now I am in a lower tax bracket and have the same relative position sharewise.
I don't sweat the daily fluctuations of price on companies I think are solid. I didn't take out the position I have because I thought this one was going to 20 overnight but I do think we have the potential to be a 10 bagger from where we are. I may be wrong but I really like what is going on at FTEL and I have the patience to see the project through. I wish everyone the best...
