The ore dips at 45 degrees. Ok. so for every foot it descends it displaces laterally one foot. So far so good. So you run a pit wall at 45 degrees just below the ore. It goes over one foot for every foot it goes down.

Where is the waste? Perhaps it is in the time it take to explain this.
